Next, your favorite games might prefer different joysticks. After all, the market is filled with various models that come with a wide variety of different features. It’s definitely more complex than picking a controller for PC, or a racing wheel. Aviation sims can work pretty well with this model but since it’s specifically designed for space sims, it cannot offer the same level of quality as high-end sticks made for aviation sims.Ĭhoosing the best joystick for your needs may look intimidating. Overall, this is a perfect flight stick for space sim fans who want the best of the best. On the flip side, it also comes with an RGB strip on the top of the stick, which can be turned off but even when turned off its finicky plastic design sticks like a sore thumb on the otherwise high-end plastic and metal body.ĭo note that you also have to get a base for this stick, with each base costing a pretty penny. It comes with a slew of buttons, triggers, levers, joysticks, and hat switches. The build quality is superb, ergonomics impeccable, and the stick feels extra premium in hands. This is a pretty expensive joystick but if you plan on using it extensively, it’s definitely worth considering. The last option is my old Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Pro, the problem with this one is that it's so old that it still has a gameport connector, I'd need to buy a $30 USB Gameport adapter for it to work.If you’re one of the people who can spend a whole weekend traversing the Milky Way in Elite: Dangerous and you want to upgrade the flying experience another notch or two, check out the Virpil VPC Constellation ALPHA-L.

Though, I'm not too sure there are many more models anyway.

Those are the only options available in my area. So I'm going to list the models I have accessible to me and hopefully someone can come in with an expert/experienced opinion on which one is the best fit for these games. Now, the joystick market hasn't exactly been relevant the past decade so there aren't that many models to choose from in my area and within my budget. I need a Joystick to get my moneys worth out of this game and I assume Star Citizen won't be any different. I bought Elite: Dangerous yesterday and quickly noticed that it's barely playable with a keyboard and mouse setup.
